Basic Handgun Safety and Marksmanship

Introduction: The course is designed for the person who is unfamiliar with firearms procedures, safety practices or needs to develop a solid foundation of shooting skills with regard to the handgun. It is excellent for people new to, or returning to, shooting sports, or someone needing a refresher course of the basics.

Goal: To provide you the basic knowledge, skills and mindset necessary for owning and operating a handgun safely.

Ammunition: All ammunition will be provided for you.
Gear Required: None. All course materials, firearm(s), eye and ear protection will be provided.
Method of Instruction: Lecture, demonstration and practical application on the range.

Notes:
- Minimum age requirement is 18. (An age waiver can be obtained, but please call or email Dead Center management for specific information.)
- No live ammunition allowed in the classroom.
- You will receive a certificate of completion and some discount coupons to be spent in the store

Training Courses

Class materials and completion certificates are provided for all basic handgun students who complete a course. All class participants must be law-abiding citizens who are not prohibited from being in possession of a firearm.
