Basic Gun Safety Rules:
1. ALWAYS keep the gun pointed in a safe direction. NEVER point your gun at anything you don't wish to destroy.
2. ALWAYS keep your finger off the trigger and outside the trigger guard until you are up on target and ready to shoot.
3. ALWAYS treat every firearm as if it is loaded (even if you are sure it is unloaded).
4. ALWAYS know your target and what is beyond.
Additional Range Rules:
- Children under the age of 18 must be within arm’s reach of an adult at all times.
- Always keep the gun inside the shooting stall, pointed downrange.
- Eye and ear protection are required for everyone entering the range.
- Guns may be loaded/unloaded only inside your shooting stall.
- Shoot only at authorized targets.
- Maximum of four (4) shooters per lane with one person shooting at a time.
- You may only collect YOUR spent casings. Taking more casings (or a different caliber) than you fired will result in a $25 fine.
- No black powder, BB, pellet or airsoft guns.
- Do NOT go forward or reach forward of the firing line for ANY reason!
- All shooters must shoot from within their shooting stall, making sure their muzzle does not go forward of the shooting platform.
- All firearms must be holstered or cased while in the retail area of the shooting range.
- Only shoot at the target on your lane.
- Only fire as rapidly as your ability permits.
- Absolutely no alcohol or drug use before or while shooting.
- No food, drink, gum, or candy is allowed on the shooting range.
- Immediately report any unsafe activity or conditions to a member of the Dead Center staff.
- When finished shooting, sweep all cartridge casings forward of the firing line.
- When leaving your shooting stall, all guns must have the magazine removed and the action open.
- All rental handguns must be in the rental box when exiting your shooting stall.
- If you have ANY problem with your firearm, leave it on the shooting platform pointed
downrange, and notify a member of the Dead Center staff.
- Use only authorized ammo ($100 fine for shooting unauthorized ammo):
- No calibers greater than .308
- No steel core ammo
- No armor-piercing or green-tipped rounds
- No tracer or incendiary rounds
- No bird shot or multi-shot projectiles (except 00 buckshot and slugs)
- Due to health concerns for the infant, we do not allow anyone who is pregnant or
nursing to enter the range.
Damage to the range will be subject to a fine – including,
but not limited to, target holders/carrier system, lighting, walls, ceilings, and
floors.
All range activities are video recorded!
